DOJ self-review depends on where you live
California resident
Use the DOJ Record Review Live Scan form and the correct Record Review application/reason entries. Fingerprint rolling sites list their own fees.
Outside California
Follow DOJ’s manual fingerprint-card and application instructions. Do not assume a California Live Scan appointment is the route available from another state or country.
Someone else’s record or a foreign transaction
DOJ says third-party requests are not processed through own-record review. It also excludes visa/immigration and foreign-nation transactions from this personal-review product; follow its separate directions for those purposes.
A missing Riverside result needs a coverage check

The court publishes different online starting dates: Riverside felonies January 1990, Riverside misdemeanors January 1994, and Banning felony/misdemeanor November 1996, among others. Some records may also have been purged. For an expected older file, give the court the case reference or approximate date and ask about availability; absence from the portal is not proof that no proceeding occurred.
